My E 300 TDT 4Matic makes a growling noise, coming from engine room depending of revolutions. With auxiliary belt removed, the noise ends.

I have put new generator, water pump, tightener pulley and shock absorber and a new a/c compresssor. No effect. Also I tried with belt, without viscous fan, no effect. The tandem pump is the only original that's left.

About the tandempump, installed is one with nr. 210 466 08 01. According to Xentry that is OK, also 124 460 16 80 could be installed. In my 1990's 260 E 4Matic and 300 CE with Niveau is 124 460 15 80.

Can someone tell me what is the difference between M103/OM603 Tandempumps before I remove one from my M103's to try is the origin of the noise there?
